The purpose of incorporating CARC paint into our Mil Spec painting services is its ability to withstand the harsh chemicals used in the decontamination process.
APC has extensive experience applying CARC coatings using paint robots and can provide this capability through our Mil Spec CARC painting services.
APC is qualified to apply both Mil Spec primer and CARC coating through our painting services.

APC is proud to offer Mil Spec CARC painting services. We have focused our efforts on application of water borne Mil Spec primer (MIL-P-53030) and CARC paint (MIL-DTL-64159) due to the improved coating performance, including smoother surface finish, increased hardness and resistance to scratching and scuffing. Additionally, there are significant environmental benefits for the water borne primer and CARC paint. Both are free of hazardous air pollutants (HAPS), lead and chromate, and are low in VOC.
CARC paint film adhesion is determined in accordance with ASTM D 3359 standard, which APC has extensive experience using for functional and decorative plating and paint coatings applied onto plastic and metal part. The resultant test rating shall be classified as scale 4B or better.
